Koras Robotics Co., Ltd. was founded in July 2022 based on various robotic technologies developed at Korea University and transferred to over 20 companies.
Our company possesses robot HW (design, manufacturing), SW (control, vision), and AI (deep learning, generative-AI) technologies, and has the following business areas.
Robot<br>Solution
We possess all the necessary HW, SW, and various component technologies required for the development of collaborative robots, medical robots and humanoid robots. We sell robot components such as counterbalance mechanisms that amplify the payload of a robot when installed, robot controllers, joint torque sensors, and motor drivers. Furthermore, based on our experience in developing custom robot arms for more than 15 companies, we not only provide robot development services but also offer OEM production of robot arms when needed.
Tooling<br>Solution
With our patented motorized automatic tool changer and 20 different compatible tools (including grippers), our KR-RTS (robot tooling system) can respond to almost all robotic tasks. We provide grippers capable of finger changing, compliant grippers for handling flexible objects, high-payload grippers for grasping heavy objects, and offset-tolerant grippers that compensate for grasping inaccuracies. In addition, we develop custom grippers and tooling solutions tailored to requirements of customers and provide an AI-based tooling system that recognizes the target object and selects the appropriate gripper and optimal grasping points.
Automation<br>Solution
By integrating our expertise in HW, SW, and AI, we develop a wide range of automation solutions tailored to our customers’ needs. To date, we have successfully developed various automation solutions, including 3D printing automation, cooking automation, generative-AI & speech-based task automation, automation of coupler fastening in semiconductor processes, and 3D bin picking systems.

Welcome Message from the CEO
KORAS ROBOTICS was established in July 2022. The name KORAS stands for Korea’s Robotic Automation Solution.
Although the company’s official history is short, our technology development originated over two decades ago, initially within a university research laboratory. Throughout this period, we have consistently developed industrial robots, collaborative robots, various robotic components, and robot-based automation solutions, responding directly to real-world industrial demands. In this sense, Koras Robotics can be regarded as a company with more than 20 years of history rather than a startup company.
We have three business areas: robots, tooling and automation. While these might seem extensive for a startup, each domain features highly mature technologies resulting from at least ten years of rigorous development and practical applications in the field. Some of these technologies have already been successfully implemented in industrial sites, receiving very positive market feedback.
Our founding philosophy is to offer only products that are differentiated from those of other companies. For example, our robot tooling system provides a new concept of tooling solution that cannot be found in our competitors, and our counterbalanced robots represent unique technology that only our company possesses globally. Additionally, developing and manufacturing customized robots tailored for specific customer needs represent another unique aspect of our business model.
While we take pride in our technological excellence, we fully understand that outstanding technology alone does not guarantee successful products or business outcomes.
